Adult Education Makes Fiscal Sense

Adult education may be the single most important tool for moving otherwise unemployable adults successfully off public assistance and out of poverty. It has also been shown to reduce the number of new crimes committed by former prison inmates. Educated, literate parents are the foundation for literate, educated children.

Adult Education programs are geared to increase the independence, employability, and functionality of adults. Adult Basic Education serves adults whose math and literacy are at or below the eighth grade level. The Adult High School Completion program provides adult students instruction leading to a high school diploma. Programs are also available to improve basic English communication skills.
